Dear Immaculate Conception Families,
I pray everyone had a relaxing and safe long weekend. I would like to take this time to thank you for helping us keep all our students and staff safe. Please take the time to read this letter carefully.
Raffle Fundraiser- Please continue selling your raffle tickets. If you wish to donate a gift card/gift certificate for our raffle, please contact the school office at 783-5225. All Raffle ticket money is due this Friday, Oct. 16th. The raffle is scheduled for Friday, October 23rd.
Federal Lunch Program- We have some great news!! Our lunch program has extended FREE breakfast and lunch for ALL our students until the end of the year. Thank you Sister Ann Mary for all your hard work applying!!! Even though on Friday we continue to be distance learning, we now provide lunch on Fridays. Please call us Friday morning by 8:30 am to let us know if you are planning on picking up lunch.
Drop Off- Just a reminder drop off is from 7:40 am to 8:00 am. Students are to stay in the vehicle until a staff member comes to your car to do a quick health screening.
Pick Up- Kinder through 4th graders (along with older siblings) dismissal time is from 2:45 pm to 3:00 pm. If you arrive before, please park and do not start getting in line before 2:35 pm. We are trying to avoid our car line to go into Ave B. 5th through 8th grade dismissal time is from 3:05 to 3:15 pm. Please communicate these procedures with family members who will be picking up your children for everyone’s safety.
Distance Learning Attendance- For our distance learning students, attendance will be taken during their live meetings. It is required for students to attend ALL Google Meets. If you are not sure of the schedule, please ask their teacher.
Report Cards- All report cards will be emailed on Friday, October 16th. Please take this time to review our SLE’s with your student. We expect all students to be Active Christians, Responsible Citizens, Critical Thinkers, and Positive Thinkers.
Parent/Teacher Conferences- Parent/teacher conferences will start on Tuesday, October 27th until Friday, October 30th. All conferences will be virtual. Monday, October 26th will be a full day but Tuesday 10/27- Friday 10/30 will be early dismissals. K-4th graders and older sibling dismissal time will be at 12:20 pm and 5th-8th grade dismissal time is at 12:30 pm. Teachers will begin communicating with parents to schedule your meeting. Please respond as soon as possible.
Lifetouch Pictures- On Thursday, October 29th, Lifetouch will be present to take our Fall pictures. Students are to wear their mass uniform. Once we have a schedule, we will be communicating with our Distance Learning students to join their classmates if possible.
Spirit Week- IC will be having Spirit Week the week of October 26th. Please check out the flyer attached.
Preschool- Preschool schedule is from Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm and Friday from 7:00 am to 12:30 pm. Being that we are not attending in person Mass at the moment, Preschool does not have to wear their Mass uniform on Friday. Students can wear their PE shirts with blue bottoms.
PTO- Thank you PTO and ALL IC families for your continued support! All PTO fundraiser profits come back directly to our school. If you have not done so, please check out our new I.C. CHARGERS sign by the upper grades. Thank you Garcia family for setting it up over the weekend, it looks great!!! CHARGERS PRIDE!
Daily Home Screening for Students
Parents: Please complete this short check every morning before your child comes to school.
If your child has any of the following symptoms, that indicates a possible illness that may decrease the student’s ability to learn and also put them at risk for spreading illness to others. Please check your child for these symptoms:
-Temperature 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher when taken by mouth -Headache
-Shortness of Breath -Cough -Chills -Fatigue
-Muscle or Body Aches -New loss of taste of smell -Sore Throat
-Runny Nose and/or congestion -Nausea or vomiting -Diarrhea
Because we care about your child as well as the health and safety of others at school, please follow these guidelines:
ISOLATE until the following criteria have been met:
1. It has been at least 10 days since the symptoms appeared** AND
2. Your child has no fever for 24
**If your child sees a medical doctor who verifies a diagnosis other than COVID-19, your child can return to school prior to the 10-day isolation if numbers 2 and 3 above are met.
**If your child receives a verified negative COVID-19 test, he/she can return to school prior to the 10-day isolation if numbers 2 and 3 above are met.
Please know that we continue to monitor Yuma’s benchmarks and continue to be attentive during the pandemic. Most of our classrooms are at capacity for in-person instruction for the safety of all our students and staff. It is our Diocese recommendation to keep our classroom sizes to a limited number of students based on our classroom sizes. Our faculty and staff continue to work diligently to provide the best education possible during these difficult times all while keeping safety as a priority.
